About Me.

My name is Kelsey Raines and I am a Central Missouri based artisan. I currently live on a farm in Florence, MO with my husband, Kevin, and our two dogs, two cats, and four horses!

Animals have always been an important part of my life growing up in Springfield, MO.  I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Fine Art from Missouri State University and worked in the animal health field for two years.   My desire to have a career in art led me to move to Sedalia, MO and attend the University of Central Missouri where I completed a Master’s degree in Art Education. I now have an exciting and fun career as an art teacher for the Sedalia School District.

My passion for art and my love for animals are the heart of my flourishing pet portrait business.  A painted portrait is a unique representation of your pet distinct from a photograph.  As I paint, I strive to capture the personality and characteristics that you love about your pet.  Colorful, imaginative backgrounds also embody the life of your pet or farm animal.

Pet portraits make meaningful gifts for family or friends.  I offer reasonable pricing and custom commissions are completed for you in a timely fashion.

Please enjoy perusing this website to see my work, which includes still life and floral paintings as well as pets. You may also visit me on Instagram or Facebook.  My art can also be seen at various Art Walks and Festivals in the Sedalia community.

Thank you for your interest in Art by Kelsey Raines!
